Dealing with an outdated home can be a challenge! The intent for this project was to do a complete renovation from the inside out. First step was to create an open concept first floor plan to connect the tight existing living conditions. A new kitchen, dining, living area provides plenty of space for guests, providing site lines the moment you step through the front door all the way through to the open backyard. Custom built-ins flank the centered fireplace within the living room providing a terrific entertainment space. A separate mudroom entry was created towards the rear to provide the clients with their own informal entry for every day use.

On the second floor, a grand suite and two other generous size bedrooms are provided. One successful design challenge was giving the clients additional living space within the attic. This was done by strategically placing a new stairway into the existing roofline which was remastered to provide ample space above. Finally, new siding and windows on the exterior provides the home with a modern day aesthetic while while preserving it’s original charm and character.
